June marks 80 years since D-Day — a turning point in World War II. We have limitless gratitude for those that made the sacrifice for our freedom, and for those at home that worked tirelessly to support their mission. In the Boeing 📷 below, Douglas Aircraft’s “Rosie the Riveters” celebrate the rollout of the 2,000th Douglas C-47 Skytrain, known as the Dakota in the UK Royal Air Force service. More than 10,000 were built at Douglas plants in Los Angeles and Oklahoma City. They transported Allied paratroopers and glider assault troops in the early morning of June 6, 1944.

My old man was a navigator on one of these in WW2 in Australia (RAAF), servicing troops in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Dad affectionally referred to them as the "Biscuit Bomber" when we were kids. ❤️

Amazing! Many years ago, safety risk assessment in aviation primarily followed a reactive approach. Incidents and accidents were meticulously investigated, and lessons learned were then incorporated into safety protocols.Today, the industry has embraced a more comprehensive and forward-looking approach to safety risk assessment and Organizations now leverage advanced data analytics, predictive modeling, and a deeper understanding of human factors to identify potential risks before they manifest. As the aviation industry continues to evolve, the importance of proactive and predictive safety risk assessment cannot be overstated. By engaging in the comprehensive training programs offered by Safety Risks Assessment, aviation professionals can stay ahead of the curve, ensuring their organizations are well-positioned to address the safety challenges of today and tomorrow.Stay updated and informed – sign up now. Both my parents served in WWII; Dad taught the airplane mechanics who kept those Flying Fortresses flying, and Mom supported the cryptographers at the State Department breaking German communications codes. They were so proud of their contribution.
